The 2025 Gas World Cup and Gas Cup championship started at the “Esk Erina” stadium in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, with the participation of 12 teams in the ball for the seven seven elites representing the major oil companies from 3 continents: Asia, Africa and Europe, which will be held from 9 to 12 May.
The opening ceremony was held in a large presence of officials and managers of oil and gas companies, and Jamal Al -Ghandour, Chairman of the Referees Committee, member of the Organizing Committee, cut the opening tape.
The first version of the championship will be held for the elite categories, and the “Master” at an average age of 40 years for the Masters category, and each match plays for 30 minutes, 15 minutes per run.
The list of teams participating in the elite category includes 7 teams: Sukar, Sukar – “CBB R”, Azzargaz, the Zafar group (Azerbaijan), the Oman Oil Development Company, the Okio Group, “Oman”, and the “Zien” group “Germany, while the Master’s list of 5 teams consists of 5 teams, Enppi” Egypt “, the Zien group” Germany “, and the group Zafar “Azerbaijan”, Oman Oil Development Company, and Oman Towers.
Ali Al -Ma’aim, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, stressed that the strong start of the championship in the first edition is a positive and pivotal point in supporting its future continuation, attracting oil and gas companies in the world, and enhancing acquaintance and various partnerships.
He pointed out that the organizing committee of the championship will work hard during the coming period, to put all arrangements for the success of the second edition of the tournament, to ensure the achievement of the best success rates, and to attract more regional and international Gulf companies to participate in their competitions.
