Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara described the decision to lift US sanctions on his country as a “historic and courageous decision that paves the way to lift the suffering of the Syrians.”
In a televised speech, Al -Shara called on investors to Syria, stressing that his country “is committed to facilitating investment conditions and opening its doors to investors.”
He added that Syria “will not be after today an arena to share influence,” explaining: “We will not allow the division of Syria, nor will it be allowed to revive the narratives of the previous regime, so Syria is for all Syrians.”
The Sharia reviewed the diplomatic moves of his government, and pointed to his visit to Riyadh, months ago, and his meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and said that he “promised me to do his power to seek to remove sanctions on Syria,” and added that he visited Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, saying that he “stood with the Syrian people, carried his country a lot in 14 years, and hosted millions of Syrians with all the burdens he carried.”
He also talked about his meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, saying that “since the moment of liberation, he is standing next to us.”
He talked about his visit to the Emirates and his meeting with its president, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, “who was quick to open the doors of the United Arab Emirates to his Syrian brothers, and expressed his full readiness to do everything necessary to rise again.”
Al -Shara added: “It was the first to bless us King Hamad bin Isa, the king of the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as our brothers in Kuwait and the authority of Oman, and I do not forget the King of Jordan Abdullah bin Al -Hussein, and his hot welcome and the Kingdom’s position on hot issues, as well as President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi, President of Egypt, I saw with his eyes his keenness on the renaissance and reconstruction of Syria, as well as Libya, Algeria, Maghreb, Sudan and the brothers in the happy Yemen, His desire to restore the Syrian -Iraqi relations.
