The Syrian Minister of Defense, Muhlaf Abu Qasra, announced a decision to integrate all the units and military groups working on Syrian soil under the umbrella of the Ministry of Defense, in a move aimed at uniting the military establishment and enhancing central discipline and control, according to regional media.
The minister affirmed that all military groups, including the small ones, are obligated to join the ministry within a period of no more than ten days, stressing that any group that fails to do this decision “will be dealt with” according to the necessary military measures.
This declaration comes within the framework of the Syrian government’s efforts to reorganize the armed forces and control the internal security situation, amid the continued field and political challenges in the country.
Lifting the sanctions imposed on Syria
Earlier, a number of Syrians went out to celebrate in several Syrian cities after US President Donald Trump announced his intention to lift the sanctions imposed on Syria after a request from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al -Shaibani said that his country welcomes US President Donald Trump’s recent statements regarding the lifting of the sanctions imposed on Syria in response to the hideous war crimes committed by the Assad regime.
Al -Shaibani added, in statements to the official news agency, SANA, that this development represents a pivotal turning point for the Syrian people, while Syria is heading towards a future of stability, self -sufficiency, and real reconstruction after years of the devastating war.
