The Supreme Council for the Environment put forward an official tender for the operation of the Crimea nursery in the Ras Sanad area, to support environmental rehabilitation programs and maintain biological diversity in the Kingdom, so that the tender includes the implementation of an integrated environmental project that extends from July 1 to October 31, 2025, and depends on an innovative self -irrigation system based on the movement of natural islands, to produce about 52,500 seedlings of Crimea. The tender was presented within the framework of the continuous efforts made by the Kingdom of Bahrain to enhance environmental sustainability and increase the green area, especially by cultivating Crimea trees, which is one of the important environmental pillars in the coastal system.
The scope of work, according to the tender, includes a set of specialized environmental activities, among them the preparation of the site, the supply and mobilization of agriculture bags, the collection of Crimea seeds from different locations, their cultivation, the follow -up of germination operations, in addition to carrying out the final cleaning work on the site.
The project aims to produce about 52,500 seedlings of Crimea trees during the specified period, as part of a deliberate plan aimed at promoting coastal vegetation and achieving the relevant sustainable development goals.
The primary guarantee was set to enter the tender at the amount of 500 Bahraini dinars, with a validity that extends to 180 days, while the duration of the implementation of the contract is 3 months.
This project comes as an affirmation of the Kingdom’s commitment to protect its coastal environment and activate the role of the environmental sector within the Bahrain and social vision, especially in light of the importance of the Crimea trees in facing climate change and supporting marine life.
