Angelina Ikhhur, the European Union’s ambassador to Egypt, announced that the second segment of the European financial package is expected to be spent 4 billion euros within the total financial support package for Egypt within weeks.

Ikhherst told the Middle East News Agency that the date of the disbursement of the second tranche approved by the European Parliament last month has not yet been determined, but it is expected to be done within weeks.
And in a separate context A mission from the International Monetary Fund intends to visit Egypt this week to start the fifth review of the Egypt Economic Reform Program.
Dr. Mohamed Moait, the representative of the Arab Group in the International Monetary Fund, stated that the preparation is underway to determine the date of the start of the fifth review of the Egypt program with the Monetary Fund, within the framework of the four -year program, which aims to support Egyptian economic reforms and follow up to achieve the goals of each stage as agreed.

Moait explained, during his participation in the Spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Washington, that the International Monetary Fund is one of the basic mechanisms for supporting countries seeking to restore their economic well -being, whether through supported or financially supported financing programs.
He pointed out that the current global uncertainty resulting from successive crises such as the Kofid-19 pandemic, inflation, war in Ukraine, and the ongoing war in Gaza, as well as restricted monetary policies, have raised the cost of financing and burdened many economies, especially in the Arab countries.
