Media sources announced that the International Committee of the Red Cross received the Israeli-American soldier, Idan Alexander, who was held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip, in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip.
The delivery process came as part of an agreement reached by Hamas with international brokers, with the aim of releasing the soldier in exchange for efforts to cease fire, open the crossings and introduce humanitarian aid to Gaza.
According to media reports, Alexander was transferred to the Red Cross at a custom site east of Khan Yunis, where the Israeli army forces were located near the site in anticipation of any emergency.
The soldier is expected to undergo preliminary medical examinations at the Reem base near the border, before he was transferred to Ecalov Hospital in Tel Aviv to complete the examinations and psychological evaluation.
