Gold prices today, Monday, May 12, 2025, witnessed a new decline affected by the decision of China and the United States of America to reduce customs duties on Chinese and American exports to each other for 90 days.
This decline coincides with the start of the work of the World Stock Exchange today, which declined in its first sessions, to record the price of the ounce of 3278 dollars.
The latest update for gold prices came according to the platform of any specialized formula in trading in the price of gold via the Internet as follows:
Gold prices today in Egypt
- The price of 24 gram gold
The price of 24 carat gold was about 5234 pounds instead of 5394 pounds, with a decrease in 160 pounds.
- The price of a gram of 21 carat gold
The price of a gram of 21 carat gold was about 4580 pounds instead of 4720 pounds, a decrease of 140 pounds.
- The price of 18 carat gold
The price of 18 carat gold was about 3925 pounds instead of 4046 pounds, a decrease of 121 pounds.
- The price of the gold pound in Egypt
The price of the gold pound recorded about 36640 pounds instead of 38192, a decrease of 1552 pounds.
Gold price globally
The ounce fell in the world $ 63 to record $ 3215 instead of $ 3278.
Gold prices in the global market fell, by more than 3.2%, equivalent to about $ 100 an ounce, after a Chinese -Chinese agreement on a significant reduction in customs duties for a period of 90 days.
Gigar Trevidy, chief analyst at Ryleins CISITIOTES, explained that the rise of the dollar index coincided with the Trump administration promoting progress in commercial negotiations with China after the meetings held in Switzerland at the beginning of the week, which negatively affected gold prices.
