Mr. Ahmed bin Salman Al -Muslim, Speaker of the House of Representatives, stressed the importance of the role of the national press and media outlets in the Kingdom of Bahrain in spreading societal awareness, enlightening public opinion, and performing the noble message, with all credibility, professionalism and responsible freedom, in light of the royal royal sponsorship of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, may God protect him.
Pointing out that the International Day of the Freedom of the Press is an annual, high -level international occasion, to celebrate the press and press cadres, the tasks and responsibilities it plays, and a pivotal role in the renaissance and progress of the country, as a supportive and strategic partner, and a major pillar of achievements and civilizational successes of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in light of the comprehensive development process.
He praised the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the contents of the Royal Royal Message, which is preferred to direct His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, on the occasion of the International Day of Freedom of the Press, which falls on the third of May of each year.
He explained that the responsible press freedom is the pillar of the advanced society, sustainable development and the prosperous future, and that the celebration of the World Press Freedom Day for this year, which carries the slogan: “Press coverage in the new world – the impact of artificial intelligence on the freedom of the press and the media”, and within the framework of the witnessed technical development, requires the professional and moral commitment to artificial intelligence in the press and media field and electronic platforms, and in a way that preserves rights Humans, respect for society’s culture and the privacy of individuals.
Approve, on this occasion, the role of the Ministry of Information, the Bahraini Journalists Association, and all press institutions and media bodies, in performing its mission with professionalism and objectivity, and upgrading the role of visual, audio and electronic media, in preserving the national identity and established principles, instilling the concepts of loyalty and belonging to the country, protecting the right to knowledge, caring for press talents, providing all ways of training and professional development, and investment in Media cadres, cooperation with universities, media and press colleges, to graduate media competencies, and seek to provide quality job opportunities for them.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives added that the celebration of the International Day of Freedom of the Press and the Day of Bahraini Press, with the Bahraini Journalists Association celebrating its silver jubilee, and 25 years since its publicity as the first professional association representing the national press, constitutes a bright page for the history of the Bahraini press and its pioneering career, the efforts of the first generation, and the giving of national press cadres.
Expressing the appreciation and parliamentary pride in the efforts of the national press, its active role in highlighting the work of the legislative authority, its delivery to the local and external society, and the consolidation of the values and principles of the profession, which express with honesty and responsibility, a real mirror of Bahraini society, and its future aspirations.
Emphasizing the Speaker of the House of Representatives the continuation of the legislative authority in developing media laws and legislation, in a way that contributes to supporting freedom of opinion responsible, and in a way that enhances the gains of the ancient Bahraini press.
