In the context of the continuous concern of the General Secretariat of the House of Representatives to develop its employees and raise their competencies in line with the nature of the legislative and parliamentary work, the Municipal Secretariat organized a number of training courses for its employees during the period from 18-22 May, which came in cooperation with a number of competent authorities.
In this context, the General Authority for Social Insurance presented the training program entitled “Retirement Procedures and Laws”, in which it targeted the employees of the Human and Financial Resources Department in the House of Representatives, in which the definition of participants in the most important laws and laws related to social insurance and retirement was highlighted.
On the other hand, a number of employees of the General Secretariat of the House of Representatives participated in the intellectual dialogue organized by the “Studies” Center in English entitled: “Artificial Intelligence for Smart Cities: Drawing the Features of the Future of the Arab Gulf”, which was presented by Dr. Manaf Al -Khuza’i, a post -PhD researcher at the Center for Environmental and Biological Studies at the Arab Gulf University.
The dialogue dealt with the importance of integrating artificial intelligence technologies in planning and building smart cities, the pivotal role of these technologies in improving the quality of life, enhancing environmental sustainability, and raising the efficiency of services in modern cities. A number of modern applied models were also displayed from a number of countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council, which have begun implementing smart cities projects, such as the “The Line” city project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and smart city initiatives in both the United Arab Emirates and the State of Qatar, which use artificial intelligence in traffic management, air quality control, and improve energy efficiency.
Participants from the General Secretariat of the House of Representatives expressed the importance of this type of events in promoting technological knowledge and supporting future legislation that keeps pace with the accelerated development in the field of artificial intelligence, which reflects positively on public policies and sustainable development trends in the Kingdom and the countries of the region.
The workshops and training courses come with the aim of developing the affiliated cadres of the General Secretariat of the House of Representatives, improving the job level and expanding their information and cognitive base, which is reflected in raising their level of experiences in line with the nature of the legislative and supervisory parliamentary work in the House of Representatives.
