In the context of its ongoing efforts to develop the business environment and enhance compliance with organizational decisions, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the launch of a new service in cooperation with a number of local banks, allowing the owners of commercial establishments to open a commercial bank account easily and easily, in a way that contributes to supporting the stability of commercial activities.
In this regard, His Excellency Mr. Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Trade, affirmed that this step reflects the Ministry’s continuous commitment to establishing a flexible, transparent and encouraging commercial environment for investment, and providing effective services that contribute to facilitating the practice of business and supporting the owners of establishments in commitment to the relevant legislation, indicating that the ministry continues to develop more initiatives for the national economy.
The minister added that this new service comes within an integrated system of initiatives that aim to simplify procedures, achieve the highest levels of legislative compliance, and raise the efficiency of government services provided to the commercial sector, in a way that enhances the competitiveness of the Kingdom of Bahrain at the regional and international levels.
This initiative comes in the context of implementing Resolution No. (43) of 2024 regarding payments for commercial transactions for commercial establishments, which obliges all commercial facilities to open a unified commercial bank account for their financial transactions, while providing approved electronic payment methods that support transparency and digitization in commercial activity.
To facilitate the procedures, a direct service point has been allocated to open commercial bank accounts on the second floor of the Bahrain Financial Port, near the Bahrain Investors Center, in addition to the ability to benefit from the service electronically through the site of the commercial licensing system “Www.sijilat.bh).
The Ministry called on all commercial facilities to accelerate the opening of a commercial bank account before the deadline on June 13, 2025, to ensure complete compliance with the decision and benefit from the facilities submitted.
