Engineer Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, conducted an inspection tour accompanied by a number of leaders of the oil sector for the Somid and Sonker semen in Ain Sokhna, where it inspected the processes of preparation and preparation to receive and award the re -change ships for the imported liquefied gas, as well as inspect the gas pipeline lines projects to connect the ships to the National Network for Natural Gas, within the framework of the procedures for securing natural gas supplies to electricity stations during the summer.
The minister started the visit by inspecting the marine sidewalk on which the ship, Huj Galleon, was currently reassuring about the workflow and the processes of emptying the liquefied natural gas of the ship and re -diverting it to the invading state and then pumping it into the National Gas Network.
The minister and his companions also inspected the second marine pavement project in Somid Port to receive another change ship, in which work has been started since last September and is one of the strategic national projects to support the National Gas Network, and Eng. Mohamed Abdel Hafez explained that the project and installation work have already been completed by 100% and the experimental test operations are currently being conducted in preparation for the reception and anchor of the change ship.
The tour included a visit to the Sonker Port in Ain Sokhna, where the minister inspected the horizontal drilling operations to extend the pipelines that will link the unit of change with the National Gas Network, and the project to prepare the sea sidewalk in the Sunker Port is also visited by establishing a line of importing natural gas Qatar, 36 inches with a length of 17 km to serve the unit of change.

The minister continued during the tour of the two ports, an explanation from Eng. Yasser Salah, President of Jasco and Engineer Walid Lotfi, President of Petrojet Company, on cooperation between them in implementing the projects of importing LNG in Somid and Sonker ports in Ain Sokhna, within the plan of support for the National Gas Network in preparation for the summer of 2025. The Sokhna for the two projects, the supply of raw materials, tasks, and the management of the two projects, which was implemented with the hands of the Petrojet company’s work teams, and that the two projects enforced the implementation of two naval and ground lines of different lengths and large diameters, and the supply of two shipping arms with a diameter of 16 inches prepared from the largest globally, to accommodate the quantities of re -disagreement and pumping them with the required efficiency. Whereas, the project in the port of Somid has finished its implementation completely and on a complete readiness to receive the second change ship, while implementation work continues in the Sonker project, to ensure the readiness of the infrastructure to receive the third floating change unit.
During the tour, Badawi expressed his appreciation for the efforts of workers in the locations of the two companies loyal to implementing the gas supply securing plan, noting the importance of expediting the implementation of the targeted projects package without prejudice to the quality and efficiency of implementation with the full application of safety and security principles in all stages of the project with the aim of securing supplies to the Egyptian citizen of natural gas, especially during the summer months and the peak of consumption.
