Mr. Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Trade, witnessed the exhibition organized by the Ministry of Inspection and Metrology Department on the occasion of the International Day of Metrology, which corresponds to May 20 of each year, in the Bahrain Financial Port.
On this occasion, the Minister of Industry and Trade affirmed that the National Laboratory for Measurement has achieved a number of achievements, foremost of which is the obtaining of the international dependency on laboratories (ISO 17025), and the development of the capabilities of the mass laboratory that provides accurate calibration services for weights up For the capabilities of the National Laboratory.
His Excellency pointed to the importance of standards as a basic pillar to ensure quality, promote innovation, and support the national economy, pointing out that the commitment to developing the standards of metrics reflects the extent of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to keep pace with international standards and meet the aspirations of the industrial and commercial sectors. He also pointed out the importance of continuing to enhance cooperation between various sectors to achieve sustainable development and upgrade the quality of products and services.
It is worth noting that the exhibition included a corner for prominent national achievements in the field of metmology, and a presentation of the fruitful strategic partnerships, whether regional or international, in addition to the review of modern and historical measuring devices that include all disciplines, and highlights the great shift in the measurement techniques between the past and the present, which reflects the accelerated progress in this vital field.
