Today, Monday, the Education and Scientific Research Committee in the House of Representatives will hold a meeting to discuss legal projects linking the general budget and the economic and social development plan for the fiscal year 2025/2026, regarding the file of scientific research, institutes and affiliated research centers.
Discussion of the scientific research budget for 2025/2026
Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, will participate in the meeting, where he is expected to present the Ministry’s vision and priorities to develop the scientific research system, and the needs of affiliated bodies in light of the development and economic challenges.
In the same context, the Senate had permanently agreed to the draft law by adopting the social and economic development plan for the fiscal year 2025/2026 and on all public visas and public lists, and the Senate is the House of Representatives in accordance with the law and the constitution as it has ended in its opinion.
The draft law stipulates that the general goals of the framework of the economic and social development plan for the year 2025/2026 adopt an increase in total resources in the current market prices to reach 26148.6 billion pounds, and increase the gross domestic product based on the current market prices to reach 20403 billion pounds, with a real growth rate of fixed prices amounting to 4.5 %, as shown in the two lists (۱)) And (۲).
