Eng. Mohamed Shimi, Minister of Public Business Sector, today made a surprise visit to the Egyptian Company for Concrete and Cement Products Sigurat, one of the companies affiliated with the Holding Company for Chemical Industries, affiliated to the Ministry of Public Business Sector.

During the tour, the minister inspected the production lines at the Flans of the High Train Factory, the railway and subway pellets production factory, along with the concrete pipe factory, central workshops, and stores, where he was briefed on the workflow and production rates, praising the efforts of workers and the quality of the products.
Engineer Mohamed Shimi stressed that Sigurat is one of the major national industrial entities that has a long history and accumulated experience in this field since its foundation in 1927, stressing the importance of the role the company plays in supporting major national projects, and contributing to meeting the requirements of the huge projects witnessed by the transportation sector, railways, subway and rapid electric train.
He pointed to the importance of the company’s expansion projects, continuously developing products, raising productive energies, achieving the maximum benefit from the available resources, and supporting the ministry for development and modernization plans to maximize the economic return and deepen local manufacturing, within the framework of the trend towards reducing dependence on imports.

It is noteworthy that the company recently added new products that are made for the first time in the Middle East, including: the fast -ranging train (USP) at the bottom of the folder, and the fast -caring railway of the Guard Rail, which are two products that represent a technological shift that contributes to the highest technical standards in supporting fast train projects and reducing the import bill, along with another project in Sejarrat For the production of pre -straining iron skewers, in partnership with the private sector, with a production capacity of about 18 thousand tons / annually from the pre -strained iron skewers product that is used in railways, electrical columns, and pre -casting architectural structures.
