The Israeli Channel 12 claimed that the Israeli occupation government and the army decided to expand the scope of the ongoing military operation in the Gaza Strip, in a move indicating a new field escalation in the region.
According to the report, a decision was taken to summon tens of thousands of reserve soldiers, which reflects the preparation for a more intense stage of operations, amid the continued confrontations and bombing in different areas of the sector.
The Israeli leadership, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, ended the lengthy consultations on the continuation of military operations in the Gaza Strip.
It is officially approved in the upcoming government session on Sunday
According to the reports, “Defense Minister Yelly Katz and the Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir approved extensive plans to intensify the fighting, and were presented to the Prime Minister for the final approval, to be officially approved in the upcoming government session on Sunday.”
The plans include expanding the scope of the reserve forces, in a move indicating a new stage of escalation, with an affirmation that what is happening does not constitute a comprehensive maneuver or intention to occupy the entire sector, but rather represents an “additional big step” in the context of the ongoing operations.
