The Hebrew newspaper Yediot Aharonot reported that Nizat Khan, the list of the Acting Prosecutor in the International Criminal Court in The Hague, officially rejected the Israeli occupation’s request to cancel the two arrest warrants issued against the Prime Minister of the occupation Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense minister Yahawaf Galet.
This came in an official response from 10 pages, which was presented today to the court, in which Khan confirmed that there is no legal basis to cancel or suspend the investigation into the Palestine issue.
Khan signed the document as a representative of the main public prosecutor Karim Khan, who came out on a coercive leave against the backdrop of a criminal investigation, according to the Hebrew newspaper.
The prosecutor added that the court had concluded reasonable evidence indicating Netanyahu’s responsibility and Gallet for war crimes and crimes against humanity that have been committed in the Gaza Strip since October 8, 2023 until May 20 last year.
Netanyahu’s arrest warrants
The list of the Acting Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court stressed that the decision of the preliminary department to refer the issue of the court’s jurisdiction to additional deliberations that the arrest warrants, which were issued independently and based on independent evidence, remained the effect of the court.
Khan concluded her response with an official request from the court by refusing to seek Israel to cancel the arrest warrants, and refused to request the suspension of the investigation, and to adopt the prosecution position on the course of future procedures.
