Dr. Lulwa Rashid Shurayat, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, confirmed that cooperation with private hospitals constitutes an important pillar in the interim expansion of the newborn genome examination program, which is one of the most prominent initiatives of the National Genome Center in terms of prevention and early diagnosis of genetic diseases.
This came during the official ceremony held at King Hamad Hospital – American Mission (AMH) on the occasion of the inauguration of cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the hospital within the framework of the genetic examination program for newborns, in the presence of a number of officials, doctors and representatives of the National Genome Center.
The National Genome Center of the Ministry of Health has announced the start of receiving newborn genome samples from King Hamad – American Mission Hospital in a move that enhances the gradual expansion efforts of the national program to include private health care institutions.
