Today, Friday, the ninth of May 2025, the 143rd anniversary of the birth of the reader, Sheikh Muhammad Refaat, and 73 years of his death, is the one who became famous for the title of the harp of heaven.

About the life of Sheikh Muhammad Refaat

Sheikh Muhammad Refaat was born in the Maghlalin neighborhood in Cairo, and lost his eyesight at an early age, specifically at the age of two, as his father died when he was nine years old .. He began his career in reviving the nights of the Noble Qur’an while he was fourteen years old.

His reputation quickly became famous despite his young age, until he was chosen in 1918, and he was fifteen years old, to be a reader of the surah at the Fadel Pasha Mosque in the Sayyida Zainab neighborhood in Cairo, where his fame reached wide horizons. This fame contributed to his choice to open the Egyptian radio in 1934, so the first thing that was followed by the Almighty saying:﴿ We conquered you a clear opening.

When some radio stations asked him to record recitations for a material fee, he initially abstained for fear of the prohibition of this, but he took advantage of the Sheikh of Al -Azhar at the time, the Imam Al -Maraghi, who authorized him that.

Pioneer of Modern Recitation School:

Sheikh Muhammad Rifaat is a pioneer of the modern recitation school. He was affected by his strong performance and his sweet voice, many readers, and many of them followed his distinguished approach to reciting the Holy Quran.

His loved ones and listeners, Sheikh, were raised with the harp of heaven, describing the sweetness of his spiritual spiritual voice.

After the life of the Sheikh spent in the service of the Noble Qur’an, he died on the ninth of May 1950, and was buried next to the Sayyidah Nafisa Mosque as he wished.

Sheikh Muhammad Mitwalli Al -Shaarawi said about him: If we want the rulings of recitation, then the exclusive, and if we want the sweetness of the voice, then Abd al -Basit Abd al -Samad, and if we want reverence, then it is Al -Minshawi, and if we want the long breath with sweetness, Mustafa Ismail, and if we want all of them, then Sheikh Muhammad Refaat.

The reader, Sheikh Abu Al -Enein, described him as the owner of the crying voice, as he was reading the Qur’an as he shed tears.

The reader, Sheikh Muhammad Al -Saifi, said: It was not like the rest of the voices.
