Dr. Khaled Mubarak, Governor of South Sinai, in his office in Sharm El -Sheikh, held an expanded meeting to discuss ways to enhance the fish wealth sector in the governorate, in the presence of Major General Al -Husseini Farhat, Executive Director of the Protection and Development of Lakes and Fish Resources, and Dr. Ramadan Abdo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sustainable Development Fund for Fisheries in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Suez and Aqaba, and members of the Board of Directors of the Fund, Major General Walid Rashad, Director of the Financial and Administrative Sector Environmental Affairs, Director of the General Administration of Environmental Affairs in the governorate, the director of fish wealth in the governorate, and a number of concerned leaders.

The meeting came within the framework of the joint cooperation between the governorate and the authorities concerned with developing the fish wealth sector, in addition to the Cooperative Federation for Fish Runs, in preparation for the opening of the snow production factory, tiles and the cooperative fishing center (fish ring) in the city of Tor Sinai.
The meeting also discussed the support of the Sustainable Development Fund with an amount of 5 million pounds to complete the second phase of the Cooperative Fishing Center, in addition to discussing the needs of the governorate from the devices and equipment necessary to develop this vital sector.
The discussions also included a study of allocating land to establish a specialized training center in the field of fish, and another to create a scaffold in Ras Sidr, in addition to researching the establishment of a scaffold and a cooperative fishing center in Dahab, with the aim of enhancing infrastructure and supporting local fishermen.
Dr. Khaled Mubarak, Governor of South Sinai, stressed during the meeting that “the governorate pays great attention to developing the fish wealth sector because of its vital role in supporting the local economy and providing sustainable job opportunities for the people of the province.
The governor promised to overcome all obstacles and challenges and provide full support for the projects being implemented, led by the hunting center in the Sinai Tor, the ice factory, and training centers, in order to advance this vital sector in a way that serves the people of the province and enhances food security.
