Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, headed the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the thirty -fourth Arab summit hosted by the sisterly Republic of Iraq.
In the opening session, the Foreign Minister delivered the speech of the Kingdom of Bahrain in front of the summit, in which he conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country. The Minister of Foreign Affairs also thanked Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary -General of the League of Arab States, and to all employees of the General Secretariat, for their appreciated efforts in promoting joint Arab action, and their constructive cooperation during the presidency of the Kingdom of Bahrain for the thirty -third Arab Summit.
Dr. Abdullatif Al -Zayani said that the Kingdom of Bahrain had the honor to head the Arab Summit in its thirty -third session, “Bahrain Summit”, through which the Kingdom sought to push the paths of joint Arab action towards wider horizons from the brotherly and strategic partnership, in a way that meets the aspirations of Arab peoples in security, stability, peace and sustainable development.
He added that the Kingdom of Bahrain has put forward many initiatives approved by the “Bahrain Summit”, which reflects the Kingdom’s steadfast and supportive position of the brotherly Palestinian people to establish an independent state and accept its full membership in the United Nations, noting that the initiatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain also included providing educational and health services for those affected by conflicts and disputes in the region, and promoting Arab cooperation in the fields of financial technology and digital transformation, stressing that the Kingdom of Bahrain will remain committed to By following the implementation of these initiatives through Arab cooperation mechanisms and international partnerships.
The Foreign Minister affirmed the support of the Kingdom of Bahrain for the efforts of the “international coalition to implement a two -state solution” launched by the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the early recovery plan and the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip presented by the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt and adopted by the “Palestine Summit” in Cairo, and the call to adhere to the ceasefire agreements, the release of hostages and detainees, and to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid completely and without obstacles, while ensuring that the Palestinians remain in their land as a basic right Of their legitimate rights.
He said that the summit is being held today amid intertwined regional and international challenges, which requires adhering to the principles contained in the “Bahrain Declaration” and the Charter of the League of Arab States, and continuing the relentless pursuit to find peaceful and consensual solutions to crises that affect many sister Arab countries, and to create an integrated security framework that preserves the sovereignty of the countries of the region, their independence and the unity of their lands, and preserves its national security from extremism, terrorism and external interference, and guarantees Security and safety of maritime navigation.
The Foreign Minister expressed the congratulations of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic on the decision of the United States of America to lift the sanctions against it, praising the efforts of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in this regard, and the success of the American Gulf Summit in Riyadh.
The Foreign Minister also stressed the importance of employing Arab human and economic resources to launch joint Arab development projects that support the achievement of food, water and environmental security, and maximize the benefit of renewable energy and digital transformation technologies to support the sustainable development goals.
He expressed the high appreciation of the Kingdom of Bahrain high support for the sisterly Arab countries for the nomination of the Kingdom of Bahrain for non -permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council, and its support for the Kingdom’s initiative to adopt the “International Day for Peaceful Coexistence”, which reflects the joint commitment to promote tolerance, peace and human coexistence, and support fair issues in international forums.
After that, Dr. Abdullatif Al -Zayani handed over the presidency of the thirty -fourth session to His Excellency President Abdullatif Rashid, President of the sisterly Republic of Iraq, wishing him success and payment, and that this summit be crowned with constructive decisions and fruitful results, which enhances integration and the unity of the Arab class, and serves the interests of Arab peoples, for a brighter future, which is dominated by harmony, peace and sustainable prosperity.
