The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Volleyball Federation, headed by Eng. Yasser Qamar, will hold a press conference at two o’clock in the afternoon next Wednesday, May 21, at the main hall at the headquarters of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, to present the new technical staff for the first team for volleyball men.

The Federation’s Board of Directors succeeded in ending the contract with the Italian expert Marco Ponita with complete calm, after a series of intensive meetings during which the comparison took place between a number of training schools, before formally stabilizing the contract with the Italian coach.

The national team is preparing to participate in the World Men Championship, which will be held in the Philippine capital, Manila, from September 12 to 28.
The draw fell the Egyptian team in the first group, along with the Philippines, Iran, and Tunisia teams.
For his part, Eng. Yasser Qamar, President of the Egyptian Volleyball Federation, confirmed that the first men’s team is preparing strongly under the leadership of Italian expert Marco Bonita, as the Pharaohs team entered a strong training camp in the Olympic Center in Maadi in preparation for the next world championship in the Philippines.
It is worth noting that the Italian expert Marco Ponita himself was keen to follow all the players in the Egyptian league and he strongly followed the professionals in Europe and the Arab leagues, as well as the group of adults and juniors, and he was able to settle on the final list that is equipped from now to participate in the World Championship in the Philippines.
Italian Marco Ponita has a great biography and international expertise that extends for 34 years, which he started in his city in Italy within the junior sector, and achieved his first championships in the 1989/1990 season when he was crowned the Italian U -14 championship with the Conad CR Ravenna team, in addition to winning the first place in the national final with a under -16 team.
In 1990, Misagiro Ravenna joined the junior teams under the leadership of the famous coach Alexander Skipa, as he won eight local titles in the various Sunni groups.
In March 2001, he was appointed as technical director of the Italian women’s national team, and achieved with him prominent achievements, most notably the crowning of the World Championship in 2002 for the first time in the history of the national team, along with two silver in the European Championships in 2001 and 2005. During that period, he played 255 games, winning 169 of them.
He also had a successful experience with the Polish women’s team, and led him to occupy the ninth place in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
