Today, Monday, the Economic Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives will hold two meetings to discuss a number of files and decisions in addition to the budget and development plan 2025/2026, for the General Authority of the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal.
An agreement on free trade with Serbia
At the first meeting, the committee is scheduled to discuss the decision of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt No. 115 of 2025, regarding the approval of the Free Trade Agreement between Egypt and Serbia, in coordination with the two offices of the plan, budget and external relations committees, and this agreement aims to enhance economic and commercial relations between the two countries, in order to support the volume of trade exchange and attract investments.
In the second meeting, the committee has dealt with two draft laws on linking the state budget and the economic and social development plan for the fiscal year 2025/2026, and related to the General Authority of the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal, as it is one of the most important strategic economic areas in Egypt.
In another context, the Local Administration Committee in the House of Representatives approved two legal projects budget for the local administration and the economic and social development plan for the fiscal year 2025-2026 regarding the Ministry’s General Court.
