The Lebanese National Media Agency revealed the death of a Lebanese youth as a result of his fall while practicing the sport of paragliding in the Jounieh area, specifically in a coast, on Saturday afternoon.
According to Lebanese media, ambulances rushed to the scene of the accident to transport the young man who died to the hospital, while the Lebanese security services imposed a security cordon around the place, and the specialized agencies began an investigation on the circumstances of the incident.
Lebanese media reports also reported that the young man who was killed was on a tourist trip, accompanied by a sailorant airline coach, who works for one of the specialized companies in this field in the Jounieh region and other regions in Lebanon.
It was indicated that he was tightly restricted, but the death was caused by his fall from a high height over the coast of “flag” before landing.
According to the initial investigations, which were reported by Lebanese media, from security sources, the paragliding coach escaped from the scene of the accident, while the Lebanese security forces continue to pursue him, and the owner of the company, who is working for the fugitive coach, has arrested the fugitive coach.
This incident comes after the decision to prevent paragliding in the Jounieh area, in conjunction with the fall of two young men last April, while they practiced the sport of paragliding, after they narrowly survived after falling into the waters of Jounieh.
A patrol moved from the Beaches of Mount Lebanon in the Internal Security Forces to seal the paragliding runway in the region with red wax, based on the signal of the Public Prosecution Financial, and it was decided to temporarily stop the exercise of this sport, until awaiting the issuance of the judicial decision that determines the fate of the exercise of this air sport in the region, according to Lebanese media.
It should be noted that attention is currently heading to the decision that the competent authorities will take regarding the future of paragliding in Lebanon, amid the demands of social media pioneers in Lebanon to impose quick measures to prevent or reorganize this sport, to ensure the safety of the public and reduce the repetition of these tragic incidents.
