In a historical moment full of deep connotations, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, may God protect him, expressed the ambitious Bahraini vision that looks at the future with confidence and optimism, and emphasizes the values of cooperation and dialogue, and puts development and peace at the core of its priorities.
His Highness’s words came on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, during his official visit to Malaysia and his active participation in the second summit of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf with the Association of Southeast Asian Countries (Asian), and the opening summit between the Cooperation and Asian Council and the People’s Republic To sustainable partnerships that enhance comprehensive development, support regional and international security and stability.
In his speech, His Highness called on the international community to adopt a common vision to confront contemporary challenges, starting with achieving a fair peace in the Middle East and supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, to protecting global navigation corridors, combating terrorism and extremism, and preventing the spread of weapons of mass destruction, while emphasizing the delivery of humanitarian aid and the reconstruction of Gaza.
In light of the leadership of His Majesty the King, this official visit carried new strategic dimensions, as seven memoranda of understanding with Malaysia were signed in vital areas that include political consultation, the development of industrial areas, higher education, data sovereignty, logistical services, maritime and air cooperation, in order to enhance development paths, and establish bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
This visit was not just a diplomatic event, but rather a qualitative shift in the Bahrain march towards building broader economic and trade partnerships with the countries of ASEAN and China. His Highness’s participation came to reflect Bahrain’s support for the launch of the negotiations of a free trade agreement with these countries, in a way that contributes to enhancing food security, developing clean energy, expanding digital innovation, and advancing sustainable development.
