Four decades and a few times passed on the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States, where it began with an idea that His Majesty and His Highness studied at the time, may God Almighty have mercy on them and inhabited them, and they were approved by them, and accordingly, the first Gulf summit of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf states was held, which is the first summit of the leaders of the GCC states, on May 25, 1981 AD in the United Arab Emirates in its capital Abu Dhabi.
Where the Council included in its membership six Arab Gulf states, namely the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, and the State of Kuwait.
In these days, he celebrates the passage of 44 years of his long life, God willing, as he spent this period leaving behind a biography and a fragrant march through the prominent achievements achieved on the ground in many aspects For examples as painted by the General Secretariat of the Council:
Economic integration, as in the year 2003 AD the Gulf Customs Union was established that contributed to removing commercial obstacles and the easy traffic traffic, as was the publication of the joint Gulf market that made the freedom to move capital and the practice of investments between the citizens of the Council to build investment edifices that served the region as well as the movement of complete freedom for citizens in member states. In the year 2009 AD, the Gulf electrical connection was made as a strategic project that secures energy and maintains its sustainability for all Gulf countries.
The Secretariat also coordinated with the member states on the establishment of the statistical center of the countries of the Cooperation Council for data, information and statistics, and worked to reduce the fees and prices of telecommunications services, in addition to the roaming service between the GCC countries, and also worked on the unified political and security coordination of positions, dealing with opportunities and challenges, and cooperation in the cultural, developmental and social field, and promoting the Gulf identity, and the council was also keen with great attention to cooperation in the fields of health and education.
In the year 1984 AD, the establishment of the military side of the Council represented by the power of the island shield, which serves military and security cooperation, including the exchange of information, joint training, combating terrorism and organized crime.
For 44 years, the Gulf Cooperation Council has proven its ability to develop and adapt, to remain a model for teamwork and strategic partnership that aims to achieve stability and prosperity for the peoples of the region.
We ask God Almighty to perpetuate all of us in the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, and it will not change us except for the better, and to pay on the path of goodness the footsteps of our leaders and the governors of our affairs, as the council played a vital role in the region and the world, and as indications indicate the great role of the council that will play it in the next stage, especially related to international relations, which works according to plans for ambitious development investments to raise the economy in general.
