The thirty -fourth Arab summit, hosted by the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, concluded its work on Saturday by issuing a final statement that stressed the categorical rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinian people, and stressed the need to introduce humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip without obstacles.
The statement stressed the necessity of stopping the Israeli aggression on Gaza immediately, and called on countries with influence to exert pressure on Israel to stop military operations and introduce humanitarian aid to the besieged sector. He also condemned the repeated Israeli attacks on Syria, calling on the international community and the Security Council to take urgent action to stop these attacks and support a comprehensive transitional political process in Syria.
The statement welcomed the announcement of US President Donald Trump to lift the sanctions imposed on Syria, stressing the importance of ensuring safe traffic for humanitarian workers in Sudan, and called for the implementation of all arrangements for stopping hostilities in Lebanon, while emphasizing Israel’s full withdrawal to the internationally recognized borders.
The statement expressed the solidarity of Arab leaders with Yemen and its efforts to achieve security and stability and end the state of war and division, and stressed the need to reach a comprehensive political solution to the Sudanese crisis that preserves its sovereignty and territorial integrity, calling on all parties to engage in initiatives seeking to resolve the crisis, including the “Jeddah Declaration”.
The statement also stressed Libya’s support in its endeavors to achieve stability through the national dialogue, while rejecting any foreign interference in its affairs, and the emphasis on the need for all foreign forces and mercenaries to leave. The statement called on the Libyan Parliament and the Supreme Council of State to expedite the issuance of electoral laws, while emphasizing support for the rights of Iraq, Egypt and Sudan water.

The Vice President of the UAE, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, also headed his country’s delegation, while Saudi Arabia was represented by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel Al -Jubeir, and the Omani delegation was headed by Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs Shihab bin Tariq Al Saeed, while Kuwait was represented by Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Abdullah, and Foreign Minister Nasser Bouraita participated for Morocco, Ahmed Ataf for Algeria, and Asaad Al -Shaibani for Syria.
The United Nations Secretary -General Antonio Guterres, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, Secretary -General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and the Secretary -General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jassem Al -Badawi, also participated in an affirmation of the importance of international cooperation in supporting Arab issues.
