The Brazilian authorities are seeking to resolve whether the bird influenza virus between wild birds in a zoos in Rio Grande de Sol is linked to the first confirmed case of the disease on a commercial poultry farm in the same state, by conducting a test of the genetic sequence of the virus, according to Reuters.

Rosani Kolaris, director of the state’s agricultural department, explained that the test results, which are expected to be issued on Tuesday, will determine whether the virus that caused the death of about 100 water birds in the zoo in the town of Sabukaya de Sol is linked to the condition of the Montenegro farm, which is about 50 km from the park.
The Montenegro Farm has witnessed the death of about 17,000 chickens due to the H5N1 virus, either as a result of infection or within the framework of the preventive executions that were imposed to contain the disease.
Kolaris closed, saying: We need to see if there is a real connection, or if what happened is just a painful coincidence.
She pointed out that the protocols of dealing with wild birds differ from those used with commercial birds, as uninfected birds are not executed in the gardens.
The only bird that was confirmed in the garden was in a black swan, and it turned out that the birds who died were living around one of the garden lakes. As a result, strict health measures were imposed, including isolating the area and restricting the entry of workers to limit the spread of the virus.
On the other hand, Vibra Foods, backed by the Tyson Foods giant, which runs the Montenegro farm, made strict preventive measures that included burning and buried animal waste on Saturday, to prevent the transmission of the virus.
