Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture, stressed that the ministry has not monitored any abnormal viruses spread in poultry, noting that mortality rates in poultry are normal and related to current weather conditions, explaining that some countries such as Brazil were monitored by cases of certain viruses, but they were not transferred to Egypt, and the ministry does not deal with any country randomly or without controls.

The Minister of Agriculture said, during televised statements, that a committee had been formed from the Ministry of Agriculture that roams most of the farms, explaining that some open farms that were not developed or updated witnessed deaths due to weather factors and lack of commitment to sound systems in education, explaining that some of them are located within residential areas or in areas that are not suitable for raising poultry, and often they are small and widespread farms, but the general situation of the poultry sector is stable.
He added that the volume of Egypt’s production of poultry is 1.4 billion birds annually, and this industry is one of the vital sectors, where a large number of citizens work and its investments are estimated at about 100 billion pounds, stressing that any disease that is monitored by the ministry is available for special treatment, indicating that the agricultural directorates operate around the clock to monitor any abnormal condition, and so far no unfamiliar or serious diseases have been monitored.
