The killing of two employees of the Israeli embassy in Washington, in an armed attack outside a Jewish museum, caused a state of controversy, due to their death by an American citizen.
The two victims are Yaron Lesinski, 30, and Sarah Lin Milgerim, 26, both of whom work within the diplomatic staff at the Israeli embassy in the United States.

For the victims of Elias Rodriguez, he is Lesinski, who was born in Nuremberg, Germany, and moved to Israel at the age of 16, where he obtained Israeli citizenship alongside his German nationality, joined the Rayman University in Tel Aviv, then continued his studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and he dreamed of becoming a prominent diplomat.
He began his work as a researcher at the Israeli embassy in Washington since 2022, and was distinguished by his academic curiosity and enthusiasm for diplomatic work, according to what he described as his professors and ambassadors who worked with him, and he was speaking German fluently, and he attaches great interest in strengthening relations between Israel and Germany, in addition to his ambitious vision to achieve peace in the Middle East.
Lichinsky plans to apply for Sarah next week during a scheduled visit to Jerusalem, according to the Israeli ambassador to Washington Yahya Liter.
While Milgerim, she is a graduate of Kansas University in the specialty of environmental science, her higher studies at the American University of Washington and the United Nations Peace University continued, where she obtained a master’s degree in international studies and sustainable development.
Melgerim joined the embassy in 2023, within the Department of Public Diplomacy, and was known for its vitality and interest in building bridges between peoples, especially through her previous participation with Tech2pece, which brings together Palestinian and Israeli youth in peace workshops and technical training.
According to her son, Robert Milgerim, the family was not aware of the engagement plans, until they received a call from the Israeli ambassador on Wednesday evening, in which he informed them of their death, and revealed to them the intention of Yaron to marry Sarah.
