Within the framework of the growing strategic relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of France, and the continuation of the continuous efforts to develop the Egyptian air transport sector in cooperation with the major manufacturers of aircraft in the world to enhance Egypt’s position as a regional air transport center in the Middle East and Africa, Dr. Sameh Al -Hefni, Minister of Civil Aviation, made an official visit to the headquarters of the Airbus International Company in the French city Management of the Holding Company for EgyptAir, and Mr. Ahmed Merhi, Head of the Planning Sector of the Holding Company for Egypt Air.

They were received by Mr. Bono de Saint -Estouberi, Executive Vice President of Commercial Aircraft sales, Mr. Fallter Van Wrash, CEO of Airbus International, Mr. Gabriel Simillas, President of Airbus in Africa and the Middle East, and Mr. Othman Mastin, Head of Trade Aircraft Sales at Airbus, and Mr. Imad Bin Abdullah, Sales Manager at the Company Airbus.
The visit started at the headquarters of Airbus, with a presentation presented by Mrs. Grani van Den Berg, Head of Marketing Department of Airbus Africa and the Middle East, in which she reviewed the capabilities of the A350, and companies operating this model, and the number of deliveries and reservations from international airlines, then followed by an expanded inspection tour inside the showroom of the airline manufacturers, which included the A320 models And the A330, the AirsPace cabin for the A350, as well as the A350F charging plane.
The tour also included a comprehensive visit to the final assembly line of A350 aircraft, where the Minister of Aviation and the accompanying delegation were briefed on the stages of accurate manufacturing and modern technologies used in the production of this model, followed by the Airbus Training Center, which is one of the most prominent centers specialized in training pilots and maintenance teams around the world.
During the visit, the Minister of Aviation and Targer Ahmed Adel conducted an integrated simulation experience of the A350 plane, to get close to the advanced training capabilities provided by the center, which reflects Airbus’s commitment to the highest standards of efficiency and safety in the aviation sector.
During the tour, Dr. Sameh El -Hafni expressed his gratitude for visiting the headquarters of the Airbus International Company, which represents one of the major companies in the civil aviation industry in the world, adding that the tour is a distinctive opportunity to closely see the latest technological developments in the field of modern aircraft and technologies.
The Minister of Aviation also affirmed the depth of the relationship that links the Egyptian aviation sector with industry partners worldwide, a strategic relationship based on close cooperation and continuous development, noting that he pride in these partnerships that contribute to supporting our future plans to develop the Egyptian civil aviation sector, in a way that keeps pace with international standards and enhances the sector’s position as a regional airline and logistical services and achieve integration to support the movement of economic and tourist growth.
For his part, pilot Ahmed Adel stated that the joining of the Airbus A350 aircraft to the EgyptAir fleet is a new step that reflects the company’s vision towards continuous modernization and promoting global competitiveness. He added that this deal represents the fruit of close cooperation and a strong economic partnership with “Airbus”, one of the most prominent aircraft manufacturers in the world.
The President of Egypt Air emphasized that this modern model will contribute greatly to enhancing the operational efficiency of the company, by reducing fuel consumption, reducing operational costs, and improving the experience of traveling to EgyptAir customers, as well as supporting the company’s goals in the field of environmental sustainability. The new model also enables the company to expand its long -term international destination network.
In this context, Mr. Gabriel Simillas expressed his pride in the ancient and distinguished partnership that links Airbus to EgyptAir, stressing that this close and extended relationship represents a role model in cooperation between international companies and national airlines. He stressed Airbus’s full commitment to support Egypt airline through an integrated system that includes the latest technology in the field of aircraft, in addition to training programs Advanced digital services that keep pace with the highest international standards.
It should be noted that EgyptAir recently concluded a deal to buy 10 A350-900 aircraft. These aircraft are 340 passengers (Economy Class-Business Class), modern technologies that include Rolls-Royce XWB TRENT entertainment and a sophisticated Panasonic entertainment system, in addition to their contribution to reducing fuel consumption by up to 25%, and a significant reduction and carbon emissions.
