Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged, on Tuesday, the loss of control of the aid distribution center in the Gaza Strip, after crowds of Palestinians rushed to the center.
In a speech, Netanyahu said: “We have developed a plan with our American friends for controlled distribution sites, as an American company will distribute to Palestinian families …
For his part, a high -ranking Israeli military official told AFP that “the distribution of aid today by American parties was successful.”
One of the aid centers in the Gaza Strip witnessed a major chaos during the day Tuesday.
The US -backed Gaza Relief Foundation said that the number of aid applicants in its distribution site was “at some point very large”, forcing its team to retreat to allow people “to obtain aid safely and distribute” and avoid injuries.
She added: “The residents of Gaza faced a delay for several hours to reach the site because of the siege imposed by Hamas.”
The Israeli Army Radio said, “The Palestinian crowds stormed a humanitarian distribution center in Rafah, south of Gaza … The aid distribution site was destroyed and the fence uprooted from its place.”
The Israeli newspaper “Yediot Aharonot” revealed that one of the food distribution centers that opened on Tuesday in Gaza witnessed chaos hours after their start.
She added: “Hundreds of Gazans stormed the distribution center in Tal Sultan in Rafah, which led to the withdrawal of the employees of the American company in Gaza from the site.”
The source added that an Israeli helicopter opened fire in the air to disperse the crowd.
On the other hand, the government media office of Gaza highlighted, in a statement, that Israel “failed miserably in the project of distributing aid in racist isolation areas amid the collapse of the humanitarian path and the escalation of the crime of starvation.”
