In one of the average pieces carrying 168 pages between his two books, the governor of Muharraq Salman bin Hindi documented his journey in national work through three main stations in his life, he started his work on the radio and then served him in the Bahrain Defense Force and his current position as the governor of the mother of cities.
Salman as a broadcaster
Salman bin Hindi’s work stage on Radio Bahrain is one of the most important stages in his career, and it was the first thing he recounted in the book “My Journey”, where he worked as an anchor, presented many radio programs, and he had a prominent role in providing sports programs, and recorded himself as the first broadcaster to present a live comment on football matches in Bahrain, and created a competition for “the best player”, and he conducted dialogues with many characters and artists, most notably the theater director Saqr And the Lebanese star Wadih Al -Safi.
He started to participate in preparing and presenting various programs established to spread culture and knowledge among citizens, which contributed to enhancing cultural and social awareness and worked to develop radio programs and increase their attractiveness to the listeners, as he had a role in discovering and developing young media talents, which helped build a new generation of media professionals in Bahrain.
This stage included meetings with the experiences of the prominent media professionals with whom he worked, which enriched his professional experience, as he mentioned in the book the great impact that the great Egyptian poet Farouk Shousha left, where there was a close professional relationship between them, in which Bin Hindi benefited from the experiences of Shusha in the field of media, as well as the Arab thinker Amin Rihani who visited Muharraq, and wrote about it in his book “The Kings of Arabs”.
Bahrain Defense Force
After a period of work on the radio, specifically in 1968, Salman submitted a request to join the Bahrain Defense Force, and obtained direct approval from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Great Country, “The Crown Prince at the time”, to start his military career by receiving extensive military exercises in the school of candidates in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which helped him to acquire advanced military and administrative skills, Several positions in strength, where he worked as director of the General Command Court.
His Majesty the Great King had a great impact on the march of Salman bin Hindi, which coincided with the establishment of his majesty of the Bahrain Defense Force at the time and his strategic vision in building the organizational and aromatic structure of it, which was monitored by the book “The First Light” of His Majesty.
Among the personalities whose military career also affected, Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, “The Commander in Chief of the Bahrain Defense Force”, which Salman described in his book as a “military and humanitarian school”, learned from him the values of discipline and leadership, and worked under his command for more than 36 years, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Salman Al Khalifa “former chief of staff” with whom he was associated with a documentary relationship during the work of the public command And the development of training programs, and the first team, Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, “Minister of Interior”.
The military period was not without the influence of the previous work of Salman bin Hindi, as its role in preparing and implementing radio programs that talk about the Bahrain Defense Force has emerged, and presented a weekly radio program entitled “Hama Al -Watan” that contributed to promoting national awareness among citizens, and presented awareness and identification programs on the achievements of power.
During his career, Salman bin Hindi obtained many medals and honors in appreciation of his military and media services, the most prominent of which is the first degree of Bahrain Medal 2012, and the liberation of Kuwait 1991, in appreciation of his efforts to enhance security and stability.
Governor of Muharraq
After his retirement from the military service, Salman bin Hindi was appointed as a governor of Muharraq Governorate in 2002, and he assumed this position in a period that witnessed great developments in Bahrain, which was required by the leadership of the province wisely and innovation, so he worked to develop the infrastructure in Muharraq and improve the services provided to citizens, and led many development projects aimed at improving the quality of life in the province.
Bin Hindi led great efforts in enhancing the position of Muharraq as a cultural and educational center to turn Muharraq into a modern city that includes modern facilities, while preserving its ancient heritage.
The people of Muharraq, in its prominent role in promoting the interaction between the local community and government agencies, and his keenness to enhance social ties between the residents of Muharraq, and to enhance the spirit of cooperation and solidarity between the people of the province, which emerged strongly in the field of volunteer work and national events.
In appreciation of his efforts in the service of Bahrain, Bin Hindi received many honors; The phase of the governor of Muharraq is one of the most important stages in his career, in which he was able to reinforce the position of Muharraq and its role in achieving sustainable development, and therefore this stage is a model for his career and evidence of his ability to lead the province with wisdom and innovation.
