The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture confirmed that it had studied a proposal on changing the procedures for receiving construction requests in the “buildings” system through the municipal engineers of the applicant, and showed that it could not be applied.
She explained in her response to the southern municipal council, that the owner of the property is contracting with an accredited engineering office, and the office is submitting an application for the building permit through “buildings”, and choosing one of the offices approved for review and auditing on the graphics, and the construction license is issued electronically through the system, without direct intervention from the municipalities in the process of issuing the license, in line with the directives of transferring the role of government agencies from my operation to control.
The Ministry indicated that the audit process takes place after the license randomly issuing, as the system distributes applications evenly to all the municipal engineers concerned, which achieves the principle of transparency for all customers.
She added that the legislation and requirements regulating the construction process in Bahrain are united for all regions, which guarantees justice and clarity in the procedures followed.
