Sheikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Bahraini Paralympic Committee, expressed his great pride in the success achieved by the International Paralympic Championship for Featory Featist – Bahrain 2025, which was held in the Isa Bin Rashid Sports Hall during the period from May 13 to May 18, with the participation of a group of players from different countries of the world.
He said: “The organization of this tournament on the land of the Kingdom of Bahrain represents a natural extension of the vision of the rational leadership in making Bahrain a regional and global center to embrace qualitative sporting events, especially those concerned with a precious category on our hearts, and they are the athletes with determination. The Kingdom has proven, again and again, its ability to host and organize championships with high international standards, which made it the confidence of international federations and sports institutions about the world.”
Sheikh Mohammed bin Duaij added that the tournament was not limited to the sports side only, but also extended to include economic, tourism and development dimensions, as the Kingdom witnessed during the tournament period an active tourism movement, with the arrival of delegations from 16 countries, which contributed to the stimulation of hotels, restaurants and transportation, as well as cooperation with national companies in multiple fields.
He stressed that the social aspect of the championship is no less important than the sports side, as the tournament was an inspiring platform for those with determination to highlight their capabilities and emphasize their effective presence in society. He added: “These heroes have shown a spirit of challenge and persistence, and they presented distinguished technical levels that confirm that disability does not constitute an obstacle to achievement, but rather a motive towards excellence.”
He also pointed out that this tournament is consistent with the sustainable development goals, stressing that the Bahraini Paralympic Committee is working to include these goals in all its programs and initiatives.
At the end of his statement, Sheikh Muhammad bin Duaij Al Khalifa expressed his thanks and appreciation to all the organizing and supportive authorities of the championship, from governmental and private institutions, praising the efforts made by the national cadres that showed high efficiency in organization and coordination, and stressing that this success is the fruit of teamwork and the spirit of national partnership, wishing the permanence of success for Bahraini sports and the sport of people with determination in particular International.
