Al -Malab newspaper – Croatian midfielder Luka Modric said on Thursday that he will leave Real Madrid after the end of the FIFA Club World Cup, as the most successful player in the club’s history and the 2018 Golden Ball is preparing to end a march full of titles in Spain.
Modric, who joined the club in 2012, played approximately 600 games with Real Madrid and won nearly 30 titles, including six titles in the Champions League, which is a record number, and four titles in the Spanish first division.
His last match will be in Santiago Bernabeu, next Saturday, at the end of the league against Real Sociedad, and Modric, 39, said that he will leave after playing the Club World Cup next month.
Modric wrote on “Instagram”: It is time. The moment I never wanted to come, but this is football, and everything in life has a beginning and an end. On Saturday, I will play my last match in Santiago Bernabeu. Real Madrid has changed my life as a football player and as a person, I am proud to be part of one of the most successful ages in history.
He continued: Although I will not wear this shirt on the field after the Club World Cup, I will always remain Madrid.
