The Middle East Listed Network (MBN), responsible for Al -Hurra channel, announced that the channel’s television broadcasting is compulsory, due to the United States Agency for World Media.

The network confirmed, in an official statement, that this abstinence represents an illegal behavior, and led to a very difficult decision to stop broadcasting, despite the great appreciation of the audience that follows the channel weekly, and is estimated at tens of millions in the Arab world.
The statement added: We appreciate our fans and look forward to returning as soon as possible, and we regret this decision that deprives our audiences of rare media coverage, dealing with American foreign policy, human rights issues, and corruption, which are rarely presented on other Arab networks.
Dr. Jeffrey Ghadman, President and Executive Director of the Middle East Listed Network (MBN), decreased the number of network employees, greatly, which will force her to reduce its television and digital production to continue to work with a very small number of employees, because the US Agency for International Media continues to stop transferring the network budget approved by Congress.
Ghadman said: There was no other option but to make these cuts. Congress agreed to fund us on the fourteenth of March, but this financing was suddenly cut illegally the next day by what is called the government’s efficiency management and by Carrie Lake, the agency’s special advisor that supervises us.
