A report of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the fourth quarter of 2024 highlighted the prominent achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the fields of cybersecurity and security.
The report showed that, for the second year in a row, the capital, Manama, ranked first in the financial gravitational index, according to Airinc classification of the top 150 cities of 2024.
This classification depends on several factors, including: wage rates, the tax environment, balanced living costs. This achievement reflects the strong and competitive economic environment provided by Manama, which makes it an ideal destination for individuals and businesses.
The Kingdom of Bahrain has also achieved a prominent achievement in the 2024 World Cyber Security Index, as it was classified within the upper category “TIR 1) by the International Telecommunication Union.
This classification reflects Bahrain’s commitment to the development of a safe digital economy, and depends on the evaluation of 194 countries according to five pillars: the legal framework, technical capabilities, organizational procedures, capacity development, and cooperation.
Bahrain recorded between 95 and 100, achieving perfect results in four of these pillars, highlighting its commitment to enhancing digital infrastructure and data protection.
Leadership in economic freedom
The Kingdom of Bahrain topped the countries of the Arab world in the Economic Freedom Index for the year 2024, according to the Fraser Institute report.
It ranked 34 globally, reflecting its commitment to the policies supporting economic growth and stability. This indicator measures the extent of individuals’ freedom to make their own economic decisions, and is based on evaluation of policies and institutions in 165 countries.
The index methodology depends on five main areas: the size of the government, the legal system, the property rights, the stability of cash, the freedom of international trade, and the legislation.
These achievements reflect the continuous progress that Bahrain achieves in various fields, and enhances its position as a leading economic and technological center in the region.
