“Legislation of Representatives”: 91 % of the topics presented in the role of convening

The Chairman of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, Mahmoud Verdun, reviewed the achievements of the committee during the third regular session of the sixth legislative term, as he confirmed that the rate of completion reached 91% of the topics presented to the committee, while 9% remains under study.

He explained that the committee was referred to 58 issues in an original basis, including 4 decrees of law and 23 projects by law, a decision of the Shura Council, 8 law proposals, 21 laws with a desire, and a request to raise one immunity. It was also referred to the committee as “dangers” 155 topics, among which were 87 projects by law, 3 decrees of law, 5 decisions for the Shura Council and 60 proposals by law.

The committee held 27 meetings and a meeting with work teams, while the number of correspondence issued 337 of it was 31 reports and 147 opinions were approved. Representative Verdun indicated that the completion rate reached 91%, while 25 topics remained at 9% under study, among which were 9 projects with law and the same as suggestions of desire and 6 proposals by law and decision of the Shura Council.

He noted the most prominent topics studied by the committee, which is a decree of a law amending the Shura and Representatives Law and the development of organizational provisions for the invalidity of membership, as well as a decree of the law of the judiciary guaranteed the text that the issues related to nationality are among the work of sovereignty that deviate from the jurisdiction of the judiciary, in addition to decrees of laws for joining a number of international treaties and agreements, the law law and the internal regulations of the two councils, and the regulation of artificial intelligence techniques.
