Ali Abdullah Al -Aradi, Vice -Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad International Center for Coexistence and Tolerance stressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to employ modern technologies and artificial intelligence applications in spreading a culture of peace and dialogue and supporting sustainable development, in line with the humanitarian approach to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, and the government’s directions headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, may God protect him. This came on the occasion of the launch of the King Hamad International Center for Coexistence and Tolerance, two innovative projects based on artificial intelligence “smart assistant 1” and “Smart participant 1” in the context of the Peace Schools Program, which was organized in the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom Researchers and youth from different countries of the world.
In his opening speech through visual communication technology, the Vice -Chairman of the Board of Trustees stressed that the development of smart tools to support parliamentary and legislative work comes within the framework of the pioneering initiatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain in devoting the values of tolerance, understanding and civilized dialogue, in order to guide the enlightened royal vision, and in response to the call of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister, may God protect him, to approve an international treaty to organize and govern the development of artificial intelligence, and benefit from Innovations and modern technologies for peace, development and prosperity purposes.
Al -Aradi expressed his pride in the close partnership with the International Parliamentary Union in launching the two projects, in implementation of the cooperation agreement signed between the two sides, which aims to build capacity and enhance legislative frameworks and educational and training programs to consolidate the values of tolerance and coexistence. He also praised constructive cooperation with the International Center (Cesamy) in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in investing modern technology and scientific research to build a participatory future of peace and sustainable development. For his part, Abdullah Issa Al -Mannai, Executive Director of the King Hamad International Center for Coexistence and Tolerance, when presenting and managing many dialogue sessions, reviewed the ways to benefit from the techniques of artificial intelligence, modern technology and scientific diplomacy in the service of humanity, spreading a culture of peace, tolerance, dialogue and coexistence, supporting rapprochement between societies, and rejecting intolerance and hatred.
Al -Mannai explained that the “Smart Assistant 1” project represents an innovative digital platform to support legislative and executive institutions in task management, data analysis, reports and decision -making, while the “Smart participant 1” project focuses on enhancing effective participation in dialogues and conferences by integrating artificial intelligence, while highlighting technology ethics and its governance. In conclusion, the participants in the Peace Schools Program recommended to continue developing the main mind of the artificial intelligence established by the King Hamad International Center for Coexistence and Tolerance in cooperation with the International Parliamentary Union, and called for the development of a curriculum for the next Vietnam session, and to work to prepare an ethical code for artificial intelligence to adopt it during the General Assembly of the International Parliamentary Union next October, in a way that guarantees the responsible and moral use of this technology to establish peace values And coexistence.
