His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Authority for Sports, Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, headed the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain at the 37th meeting of the Council of His Highness, Excellency and Excellency the heads of the Olympic Committees in the Gulf Cooperation Council states, which was held in the sisterly State of Kuwait on Sunday, May 11, 2025.
The Bahraini delegation included His Highness Sheikh Issa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice -Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Excellency Mr. Fares Mustafa Al -Kohaji, Secretary -General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and Mrs. Fajr Jassem, members of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
Among the most prominent decisions taken by the Council is the assignment of the executive office and the committees specialized in studying the final report of the third Gulf beach games hosted by the sister Sultanate of Oman recently, and approval to host the sisterly State of Qatar for the Fourth Gulf Sports Games for the year 2026 and the approval of the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee’s request to host the second Gulf Youth Games in 2028, and the importance of the Coordination and Follow -up Committee was emphasized preparing the schedule The timeline of the Gulf sporting courses for the years 2029 – 2032, with the courses corresponding to the international and regional agenda of sports.
The Council also approved the hosting of the United Arab Emirates for the first version of the 2026 Law and Sports Administration Conference and Sports Management.
The council approved the organization of Gulf women’s sport as an annual or periodic event under the supervision of the Women’s Sports Consultative Committee to enhance innovation in women’s sport and encourage member states to participate in teams of various specialties and provide prizes for winning projects.
In conclusion, it was decided to coordinate between the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the United Arab Emirates, the presidential country for the next session to determine the location and time of the thirty -eighth meeting of the Council, and it is preceded by the preparatory executive office meeting for it.
