In a controversial statement, Israeli Knesset member Ofer Kisif made in televised statements, claiming that Israel was “genocide” in the Gaza Strip.
These statements came in the context of his talk about the ongoing violations in the war on Gaza, repeating its previous positions accusing the Israeli army of war crimes.
Kesif, a member of the “Democratic Front for Peace and Equality”, was kept away from the Knesset for six months until the spring of 2025, and was deprived of his salary for two weeks, because he joined the South African lawsuit before the International Court of Justice, which accuses Israel of committing genocide.
