The Cairo Cinematic Festival participates In a large number of events and various activities at the 78th Cannes Festival, the pivotal role of the Cairo Festival in supporting the Egyptian and Arab cinema industry and enhancing its presence on the global scene.
The Cairo International Film Festival team includes the star Hussein Fahmy, the festival president, and critics: Mohamed Tariq, the artistic director of the festival, Mohamed Sayed Abdel Rahim, director of the Cairo Film Forum, Mohamed Nabil, director of the Arab Cinema Horizons and Programmer Arab Film Competition, and Marwa Abu Aish, director of parallel programs and competitions.
The activities in which the official delegation of the festival will participate inside and outside the Egyptian pavilion, which is organized for the first time in cooperation with the El Gouna Film Festival and the Egypt Film Committee (EFC).
Cannes Festival
In another context, the Cairo Film Forum previously supported the movie “Life after Siham” by Nadir Abdel -Masih, which is shown within the ACID section in the 78th edition of the Cannes International Film Festival, where the film was awarded two awards from the former sponsors of the forum (ART and Ergo) in 2021, which reflects the role of the forum as a catalyst for ambitious Arab cinematic projects.
It is worth noting that the participation of the Cairo International Film Festival in the Cannes 2025 festival highlights Egypt’s message to the world: that Egyptian cinema is not just a local industry, but rather a global cultural force capable of influencing and inspiring. This participation reflects Egypt’s commitment to its pioneering role in the film industry, not only at the Arab level, but on the international scene, as this step is a new beginning for an era of cinematic cooperation and creativity that links East and West.
