The New Valley Governorate stressed the need not to burn the waste of agriculture and palm trees and the necessity of safe disposal of them away from farms and residential blocks, in order to prevent fires and damage to public and private property, and to waste the efforts of civil protection men, especially during this period in which winds and dust storms are active.
Heavy fines on the causes of fire
The New Valley Governorate added, in a statement, that whoever violates this exposes himself to legal accountability in accordance with the Law on Waste Regulating No. 202 of 2020 Article 20, which prohibits the open burning of the waste, which states that he is punished with imprisonment for a period not exceeding one year and a fine of no less than 50 thousand pounds and not exceeding one million pounds or one of these two penalties and whoever violates this exposes himself to the fine and legal accountability.
It is noteworthy that palm waste is a major reason for the outbreak of fires in the New Valley, and the province is making great efforts to get rid of them and recycle them in a way that limits fires and serves the sustainable environmental development process.
