Ambassador Muhannad Al -Aklouk, the permanent representative of the State of Palestine to the League of Arab States, stressed the need for the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities in stopping the crimes and violations committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip, which he described as a crime of genocide fully pillars.

Al -Aklouk: The Security Council is required to activate its decisions and remove them from the drawers

Commenting on the upcoming session of the Security Council next Thursday regarding Gaza’s developments, Al -Aklouk said during his meeting with the media, Lamis Al -Hadidi, on the “Last Word” program on ON, that the Security Council is the international authority entrusted to maintaining international peace and security, and has previously adopted Resolution No. 2735 on June 10, 2024, which called for a ceasefire, accepting the prisoner exchange agreement, in addition to introducing humanitarian aid without restriction or condition to Gaza.

Al -Aklouk added: We demand that these decisions be placed under the seventh charter of the United Nations Charter, so that their implementation becomes mandatory, especially in light of the continuation of the war and its entry into the twentieth month, amid suspicious international silence and the exacerbation of the human tragedy.

Al -Aklouk also stressed that there are precautionary orders issued by the International Court of Justice calling for the prevention of genocide, which requires the Security Council to move immediately.

And Ambassador Muhannad Al -Aklouk added: If the Security Council fails to fulfill its obligations, what will you do? He must respect himself, activate his decisions, and not leave them in the drawers, especially in light of the existence of previous decisions from the General Assembly and the Council regarding the protection of the Palestinian people.
