The civil aviation authorities in Luxor Governorate decided to suspend tourist balloon flights today, Wednesday, for the second day in a row, due to the continuation of the activity of dust and sand, which negatively affects the level of horizontal visibility and threatens the safety of aviation.
The continuation of the dirt storm and meteorological warnings confuses the air tourism movement
The Meteorological Authority had warned, in an official statement on its Facebook page, of the continuation of the raised sand and the active winds in the western areas of the country, the north and south of Upper Egypt, the Greater Cairo, the Lower Egypt and the cities of the channel, as a result of the entry of a cold air front.
The authority confirmed that these weather conditions led to a disturbance in the weather, and expected a gradual improvement starting from Wednesday evening.
Wind strikes affect air tourism in Luxor
The flying balloon is one of the most prominent tourism activities in Luxor Governorate, as it attracts hundreds of tourists daily to see antiquities and temples from high altitudes with sunrise.
Such an atmosphere negatively affects this vital activity, which requires urgent decisions to protect lives and ensure safety.
