More than 20 prominent rabbis of the Zionist religious trend in Israel called for stopping the incursions of the Al -Aqsa Mosque during the continuous war period in the Gaza Strip, considering that these incursions are harmful to Israeli interests and support Hamas.
According to the Israeli Channel Seven, the rabbis, who leads Jewish religious institutions and schools throughout Israel, to stop all activities accompanying the storming of the mosque, such as group trips, photography, and attempts to create a permanent presence in Al -Aqsa courtyards.
The signatories of the statement emphasized that the incursions in wartime do not enhance Israeli control over the Temple Mount, but rather weaken it, especially in light of the Hamas movement’s use of the image of the Al -Aqsa Mosque as a symbol in its propaganda, including in its tunnels inside Gaza.
Al -Aqsa is not a place for trips or social events
The rabbis indicated that the great rabbinic in Israel has been committed for decades a fatwa prohibiting the entry of the Jews into the entire area of the Al -Aqsa Mosque, in order to preserve the sanctity of the place according to the Jewish religious teachings that warn against the desecration of the temple.
The statement criticized what he described as “the abusive phenomena of the sanctity of Al -Aqsa”, such as tourism, photography and protests inside the campus, considering that Al -Aqsa is not a place for trips or social events, and that such behavior offends the place and does not serve Israeli sovereignty.
