Today, Monday, May 12, 2025, food commodity prices in the market witnessed some slight changes between height and decline, as the average price of the packed rice recorded 35 pounds, while the average price of sugar packed 32 pounds, and it is mentioned that the prices differ according to the governorate and the region.
According to the local and international price portal of the Council of Ministers, food commodity prices came as follows:

- The packed rice: between 28 pounds to 35 pounds per kilo
- The packed flour: between 21 pounds to 30 pounds per kilo
- Paper sugar: between 31 pounds to 39 pounds per kilo
- Sunflower oil: between 87 pounds to 91 pounds per kilo
- Lentils are packed: between 51 pounds to 74 pounds per kilo
- Packed pasta: between 15 pounds to 35 pounds per kilo
- Paper beans: between 40 pounds to 65 pounds per kilo
In a related context, the official page of the Council of Ministers on Facebook confirmed, days ago, that the movement of commodity trading in the markets showed a noticeable decrease in price rates, pointing out that according to the testimonies of a number of citizens with a number of different commercial chains, the prices of a number of basic commodities decreased by large proportions compared to the movement of prices during the last period.
She added that a number of citizens expressed their satisfaction with the noticeable decline in the prices of a number of basic commodities, including eggs, oil, sugar, meat and poultry, noting that the prices have witnessed a gradual decline during the past weeks, which contributed to improving and increasing their purchasing power and meeting the needs of their families
