During his participation in the “Towards a Comprehensive and Sustainable Economic Development”, the First Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council, Jamal Fakhro, stressed the importance of economic forums in enhancing communication between the executive and legislative authorities, stressing that these activities constitute a platform to present the future government plans and determine the legislative roles required to support the implementation of national strategies.
He pointed out that from the core of any future action is legislative and legal committees, and since 2002 until now 1900 legislation has been issued in the Kingdom of Bahrain, indicating that all these legislations aim and in the primary direction, which is financial sustainability.
Fakhro emphasized that such conferences are important to highlight two things in them; The first is the government’s plans in the future period, and the second is the required role of legislators to enact legislation that helps the government in implementing these strategies and future ideas. He expressed his hope that after the forum ends and the issuance of its statement, the goals that must be achieved in the coming years, in cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities.
Fakhro explained that the relationship between the legislative and executive authorities is an integrative relationship, as in the Kingdom of Bahrain it was and the relationship is still based on accountability, follow -up and cooperation, by responding to inquiries and providing the legislative authority with the latest numbers and data.
He explained that the Kingdom of Bahrain is a small country, and it needs this solidarity between the two authorities, pointing out that over the past twenty years, the Council has not passed with basic obstacles in dealing, but on the contrary, it was year after year, this cooperation and understanding between the two authorities develops and strengthens more, stressing that the primary goal is the citizen and the ultimate goal is the country.
