European stocks closed today, Monday, the mosquitoes of the previous session, after the sighing markets were breathed after US President Donald Trump delayed his threat to impose customs duties of 50% on the European Union.
The European Stoxx 600 European index increased 1% at the closure. The index ended on Friday’s trading, down 0.9%, after Trump was unexpectedly invited to impose strict customs duties on the commodities coming from the European Union, saying that negotiations with the bloc are not going with enough speed.

But yesterday, Sunday, the deadline for the imposition of customs duties to the ninth of July instead of the first of June, after European Commission President Ursula von der Line said that the Union needs more time to reach an agreement.
The automotive and spare parts index led the sensitive to the pressure associated with customs duties, the gains and rose 1.8%, but the shares of the Porsche car manufacturer fell 3.3 percent of the gains.
Defense companies were among the largest supporters of the Stoxx 600, as Renmate and Leonardo shares increased by more than 3% for each of them, while the aviation and defense index provided 1.7%.
The commodity and industrial services sector rose 1.5%.

“Although available time for negotiations between the European Union and the United States from good news, the speed of the recovery of stocks indicates that investors may have become very optimistic about the path of trade discussions,” said Mark Heville, chief investment official at UBS Global Wellth Mangn.
Investors began to reduce their investments in American assets due to the increasing concerns about the slowdown in the American economy and financial problems, which prompted Moody’s to reduce the credit rating of the United States on May 16.
