The Cyber Crime Department warned of the growing electronic fraud phenomenon associated with fake advertisements for private swimming pools, which use attractive pictures and fake sites to lure the victims.
Deceptive promises and fake pictures
On social media, fake accounts are spreading for reservations in a special swimming pool at attractive prices. These accounts use professional photos and locations on the maps that seem convincing, but after transferring the amount, the victim is surprised that there is no place.
Check the field before payment
The security authorities stressed the importance of field verification of any advertisement before sending any financial sums, stressing that just the pictures or the site is not enough. It is advised not to transfer money for personal accounts or deal with unknown source accounts.
No recovery after the conversion
The victims are having difficulty recovering the money after they fall into the trap, especially since the fraudsters disappear as soon as the amount is received.
